My name is Alexis Erickson and I love teaching at Cathy’s Dance Studio! Dance has always been a passion
of mine and having the opportunity to share what I have learned with your children has truly been an
amazing experience as well as allowing me to grow as a dancer.
I began dancing at the age of 9. Since then, I have become educated in the styles of jazz, tap, hip-hop,
ballet, contemporary and lyrical, all at Cathy’s Dance Studio. At the age of 14, I began demonstrating and
also participating on the competitive team, which I am currently still participating in. I have also just recently
received my Zumba 1 certification to become more educated in another style of dance. I am proud to say
that I am a dancer at Cathy’s. I couldn’t imagine dancing anywhere else, as I have made such great friends
at this studio and have had the opportunity to work with and learn from some amazing dancers over the
years. I was thrilled when I was asked to become a teacher at Cathy’s. I am very excited to begin helping my
students in becoming better dancers and teaching my students the fundamentals that they will carry with
them throughout their dancing careers.
I am currently a grade 12 student at Holy Names High School. After graduation, I am striving to attend the
University of Windsor to receive a Social Work degree to carry on with me into law school. Through school, I
would love to continue with my dancing experience, as dancing and teaching has become such a large
influence in my life. Dancing is something that I truly love and it will always be a big part of me!
